About the artwork
When I was traveling back to NYC, I got off at the Port Authority bus stop, and as soon as I set my foot down, I could feel the difference in energy. I could feel myself walking faster and getting energized because of the city. If you have visited Manhattan and ever looked up, your view will be something similar to this photograph - a tiny person with high energy among really tall buildings. For me, NYC has given a very creative experience. That's where I learnt to express myself as an artist. That's where I had the most courage. That's where no excuses were made to get things done. This photograph, especially from the perspective of a recent graduate walking the streets, reminds me of those creative days and an energy that's so hard to put into words.
